Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding Our Design Services

Here at the Hannah Gill Designs studio, we specialize in thoughtfully curated business marketing materials for businesses, schools, clubs, community organizations, and select events.

From business cards and brochures to banners, sponsorship materials, and digital graphics, our focus is simple: creating polished, purposeful design that helps our clients communicate clearly and confidently.

What does your studio specialize in?

Our primary focus is business marketing materials—the pieces used to promote a business, share information, support an event, or strengthen an existing brand.

Common projects include:

  • Business cards and stationery

  • Brochures, rack cards, flyers, postcards

  • QR code graphics

  • Invitations

  • Posters and advertisements

  • Canva Brand Kit set up

  • Banners and event signage

  • Sponsorship and presentation materials

  • Social media and digital graphics

  • School, club, community, and event materials

  • Other branded marketing collateral

Need several pieces for the same campaign or event? We can also create coordinated materials that share a consistent look and feel.

Do you work with schools, clubs, and community organizations?

Absolutely. Community projects are some of our favorites.

We welcome design work for schools, clubs, nonprofits, fundraisers, community organizations, and local events, including everything from event flyers and programs to banners, sponsorship packets, signage, and promotional materials.

What is the difference between a Graphic Designer and an Illustrator?

A Graphic Designer takes elements such as typography, photography, colors, existing artwork, and brand assets and brings them together into an effective finished design.

An Illustrator or Graphic Artist creates original artwork from scratch—such as custom drawings, characters, mascots, or detailed illustrations.

Our expertise is graphic design. If the primary feature of your project needs to be custom-drawn or illustrated, an illustrator will likely be the better creative partner.

Do you offer logo and branding design?

Yes, for select branding projects that fit our clean, minimal design style.

We're best suited for typography-driven logos, simple brand marks, brand refreshes, and visual identities that can translate beautifully across your marketing materials.

Highly illustrated logos, detailed mascots, characters, and custom-drawn artwork aren't our specialty.

Do you offer website design?

Yes, although website design is currently offered on a select-project basis.

We design exclusively within Squarespace, focusing on the visual side of the website: page structure, layout, branding, imagery, content organization, and overall user experience.

For projects requiring extensive custom coding, databases, applications, or advanced integrations, a dedicated web developer may be a better fit.

Can you create something that isn't listed?

Possibly! We intentionally leave a little room for projects that don't fit neatly into a service category.

If you have an interesting idea for your business, school, organization, or event, send it our way. We'll take a look at what you're envisioning and let you know if it's something our studio can help bring together.

Do you work with clients outside of Central California?

Yes. While our Central California roots are an important part of who we are, geography doesn't limit who we can work with.

Our process is designed for remote collaboration, allowing us to work with clients throughout California and across the country.

Do you accept every project inquiry?

We don't—and that's intentional.

Keeping our project calendar limited gives us the flexibility to choose work that fits our studio while giving accepted projects the time and attention they need. Availability varies throughout the year based on current projects, scope, and scheduling.

How much does it cost to work with your studio?

Every project is a little different, so pricing varies based on the scope, complexity, timeline, and materials needed.

Many of our business marketing design services are priced by project, while other work may be billed hourly. Whether you need a single marketing piece or a coordinated collection of materials, we'll help determine the best approach based on your needs.

What can you expect when working with our studio?

Whether we're creating a single marketing piece or a coordinated collection of materials, every project is approached with the same thoughtful, intentional process.

  • Thoughtful Design: Every project begins with understanding what you're trying to communicate and who you're trying to reach. From layout and typography to imagery and color, each element is selected with purpose—not simply because it looks good.

  • A Collaborative Approach: You know your business or organization best. We bring the design and marketing perspective, while your ideas, goals, and feedback help shape the final result. We'll guide the creative direction and offer recommendations while keeping you involved throughout the process.

  • Polished, Purposeful Results: The goal isn't to overcomplicate your marketing. It's to create clear, cohesive materials that feel professional, represent you well, and work together with your existing brand.

From businesses and schools to clubs and community organizations, our approach remains the same: understand the goal, thoughtfully curate the details, and create something that communicates with confidence.

Simple designs, thoughtfully curated.
